While writing our report on puberty suppression, Lesbians United consulted a vast body of scientific research. Here’s how we evaluated the quality of the studies we cited, and how you can do the same.
Just a quick note--Jack Turban is American (born in Pittsburgh and now at U of California), and he's a gay psychiatrist. The two studies mentioned above have been heavily criticized from many viewpoints.
Thank you for articulating this so well. It's flabbergasting how few people can pick out good vs. bad research. And oddly, even in the academic community. How some of these things pass muster is beyond me.
The way you've presented evaluation criteria in this essay is probably the most accessible and clearly-presented checklist I've yet seen.
Outstanding article, one that provides information useful in evaluating any sort of study.
Thank you for publishing it.
Thanks very much. Well written and most useful.
Again, good job with scrupulous analysis of method and data.

Thanks for this. Talk about researcher bias!
Thank you for this! I’ve been appalled at the poor research and perplexed by the absence of criticism

This is excellent, and I reposted it at uteheggengrasswidow.wordpress.com
I hope everyone shares this all over. I want Jack Turban to develop a Napoleon complex and ban himself to the island of Elbe.
