What is the UVM Medical Center here in Vermont waiting to learn more about? Stop administering these Franken drugs to children and calling it "affirmative care." There is no valid reason for interrupting puberty. Even treatments for "precocious puberty" are a stretch.

"It seemed like a good idea at the time ..." Not only did it turn out there are problems with these drugs, but they've been weaponized against girls, women, and lesbians. Actual gender dysphoria is quite rare, and it's telling that new "standards" claim one need not be gender dysphoric to be "trans" and in need of medical intervention. I find it quite telling that medical providers are among the detransition deniers. Competent care would expose potential patients to detransitioners' narratives in the name of informed consent, if nothing else. I believe it used to be that all other possible reasons for cross-gender treatment demands were ruled out before such treatment was approved. That usually meant other psychological conditions, but today it's clear that the sexist pressures on girls (including early sexualization) drive a lot of transgender ideations.

In my own humble experience, i am a lesbian woman, transgender, and am married to my beautiful wife for over 4 years. Gender Dysphoria is not a disease, because for sure i am a healthy person. At the age of 3, while waiting to go to surgery for an unrelated matter, i felt a heavy unease, so much so that i told the surgeon to make me a girl because i am a girl. Years went by, and my religious upbringing brought me more distress than one can imagine. I never was a "boy", not in the slightest way. The shame and disgust i endured everyday of my childhood, made me a stonger woman. Today, i am fortunate to be able to look in the mirror, and feel happy for looking the part.

And as much as i understand many reasonings, here is mine:

Live and let live. That is the most important gift one can give another person. I had recently an MRI, because my endocrinologist follows medical studies regarding hormone blockers. The one i used before (over an extended period of time), used for chemical castration, has been found to favor the generation of brain tissue tumor. Luckily, the MRI came out negative on that matter, no issue here. Nevertheless, i ask myself how my former endocrinologist could prescribe that drug to me.

So my though on this is that an advised practioner is a good practitioner. The decision to prescribe, of not, certain drugs should be considered in a lengthy meeting, where all parties consider each other. Would i have had the moral support system that i needed years ago, many traumata could have been avoided in my childhood. Chemical castration was a bitter need for me, because i sexual arousal was a trauma for me. The number of times i though that a quick chop would alleviate me is that same number too many. It was so unbearable, i attempted to my life more than once.

I do on the other hand assured in the fact thay caution is given as to when and how (by which means) the therapy should begin. The timeline is important, but never forget that the child / teenager / adult incfront of you might be in ommense distress. Listen, observe, have one-on-one private conversations without the parents, and be trustworthy. Explain a parents point of view, without making it a burden. It never should be a one way street, for neighter parents nor children. It should be made clear to both parties, that gender identity and drag have nothing in common. The practitioner should always be up to date with the latest findings. I am fortunate to have a dedicated medical team supporting me.

Dear parents, take the necessary time for yourself to let that flower blossom, ne attentive, and do not dismiss your childs most intimate feelings. Be grateful to have yoir child confide in you. Raise yourself to be that confidante your child need. Blossom with your child, as it unfolds its precious inner and outer Beauty.

As for the organisations that aim to be of support to the few, please do not divide into different schools, as did the greeks philosophists. All wanted to rise in their intellect, but they saw different means to achieve that aim. In the end, remember that the subject is not the definition, the individual ways of achieving a goal, but the person that comes and asks for support in its stive to be happy and well up.
